Godaddy is certainly a popular domain registrar… love ‘em or hate ‘em. And if you’ve purchased your domains on Godaddy, I may need access to the domain to make changes.
I usually use Cloudflare to manage domain DNS, so I may move DNS over there. If you would prefer, we can continue to manage it in Godaddy. But, either way, if your domain registrar is Godaddy, I will likely need access.
Do not send me your actual Godaddy login. Instead, you will set me up as a team member with access. Then, I will use my agency account with Godaddy to access your domains.
For reference, see Godaddy’s own article on how to do this: Invite a delegate to access my GoDaddy account
Here’s a general breakdown:
- Log into Godaddy and go to your account profile page.
- Under the “Account Settings” menu, choose “Delegate Access”.
- Under the “People who can access my account” section, click the link to invite somebody new.
- Enter my name “David Risley” and the email address techservices@blogmarketingacademy.com.
- For permissions, I recommend you select “Products & Domains” that way I can access everything in your account except for purchase information. If you would prefer to only allow access to certain domains, that’s your call.
- Click the Invite button.
I will then receive an email to accept the invite. Once I do so, I will be able to access your domains without the hassle of jumping through their security hoops.
It is important to invite me using techservices@blogmarketingacademy.com as the email address. That is the address associated with my agency account with Godaddy.
